Chick-fil-A’s latest instalment of their annual holiday campaign invites fans back to the world of Evergreen Hills with a new animated short film and interactive web experiences that encourages viewers to find joy in the unexpected this holiday season.
In the film, our main character Sam returns to help a new friend CeCe repair a cherished family ornament. With a little help from a quirky baker in Evergreen Hills, they discover the ability to transform an unexpected moment into something wonderful.
With the added pressure for a perfect holiday after a year apart, this film is a reminder to find joy during a stressful season—even when things don’t go exactly as planned. Who knows what magic you'll find in the seemingly imperfect realities of the season?
McCann again led creative development for the campaign and partnered with Psyop on production, bringing viewers to a whimsical bakery in the town of Evergreen Hills called The Whoopsery.
The new two-minute film launches digitally on Nov. 9th at EvergreenHills.com, on-air Thanksgiving Day on NBC, and will continue to run on TV and in cinemas throughout the holiday season.
To help encourage these moments, Chick-fil-A is inviting guests to EvergreenHills.com where, for a limited time, they have the opportunity to gift a holiday recipe card to a loved one and to enjoy one for themselves, too. AKQA lead digital strategy, design, and development for the campaign.
The printed holiday recipe card features a Peppermint Milkshake Pie recipe and a sweet surprise – an offer to redeem a free, seasonal Peppermint Chip Milkshake, available at participating Chick-fil-A restaurants while supplies last. At no cost to participants, Chick-fil-A will mail the holiday recipe cards directly to the home addresses entered on the website. Delivery of the cards to home addresses is expected to take 7-10 business days from the time of order.
In addition to the film and digital experience, a Whoopsery-inspired ornament will available at some Chick-fil-A Restaurants, along with two new Stories of Evergreen Hills children’s books with the purchase of a Kid’s Meal.
