Bares joins as Creative Director & Schleicher as Head of Production

Glassworks London announced this week the joint appointment of Jordi Bares as Creative Director and Paul Schleicher as Head of Production.

As the Glassworks Group moves from strength to strength in the lead up to its 20th anniversary, the appointment of Bares and Schleicher are the latest high profile additions across the company’s three European studios.

Bares is heralded as an industry doyen, both by peers and CG communities. With a reputation for pushing creative boundaries, he has been responsible for some of the most ambitious post-production work in recent years. His talent as a technical problem solver will be the perfect addition to Glassworks’ award-winning 3D team, where he will work alongside Head of 3D Alastair Hearsum.

Schleicher is one of the most experienced and respected VFX producers working today. He joins our talented production department as Head of Production, bringing leadership, passion and a huge amount of knowledge to the role. He will be a key figure for both the Glassworks team and clients.

Glassworks COO Phil Linturn: “On the eve of our 20th anniversary, Glassworks is entering a new and exciting era. To ensure that our capabilities evolve and grow with the global success and recognition we are experiencing, we need the best people. In Jordi and Paul, we are not only gaining decades of experience and expertise, we are welcoming one of the most trusted partnerships in the business. Their unique combination of creative, technical and practical talent has been sought and valued by the best directors for many years. Now, combined with our ability to create market-leading work, we are perfectly poised to define a new chapter in the possibilities of visual effects”.

Two of the industry’s most talented and respected names, Bares and Schleicher have been working together for many years, at The Mill and then Realise Studio, in a creative/production partnership.

Discussing his arrival, Bares said: “Glassworks has been the one company in which the 3D, 2D and R&D capabilities have been consistently delivering top of the range work. It is a natural fit for me due to the culture of story and craft, the attention to detail and hopefully I can bring some experiences and techniques that will make it an even better place to work”.

On joining Glassworks, Schleicher says: “Glassworks is an independent studio that genuinely value the craft of their artists. Over the past 20 years it has been the centre of some of our industry’s most amazing visual effects supporting a catalogue of outstanding ads. The talent across the offices makes it perfectly placed as a visual effects powerhouse, with the size and quality to deliver outstanding results, whilst maintaining strong personal relationships with clients and allowing the individual artists to shine”.
