Hyper-local campaign from DEPT® uncovers all the different occasions, the highs and lows, of ordering food

Lieferando, Germany's leading marketplace for ordering food, groceries, and everyday convenience products, celebrates local city life with its latest campaign, 'Auch ’n Anlass' (Also an Occasion). The campaign is now live and is designed to resonate with the vibrant and diverse lifestyles of six major German cities: Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Frankfurt, and the food that hits home in those places. 

The six cities are of strategic importance for Lieferando as a huge amount of orders are coming from there. Auch ’n Anlass offers a fresh perspective on food and on-demand delivery beyond the typical indulgent burger night. The hyperlocal campaign uncovers all the different occasions – highs and lows – of ordering food, groceries, or convenience products when you live in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Frankfurt, championing the diversity of each city and also highlighting the variety Lieferando caters. 

'Auch ’n Anlass' draws inspiration from real-life experiences, trends, and meme culture, capturing the authentic essence of each city. By conducting interviews and immersing themselves in the local culture, the creative team at DEPT® crafted a campaign that speaks directly to the residents of each city, using distinct characters and scenarios that only locals would truly understand.

The campaign features 248 assets, created with just eight talents, to authentically portray the unique vibe of each city. From Munich's Eisbach surfers to Düsseldorf's shopaholics and Cologne's enthusiastic FC Köln fans, the campaign celebrates the diversity of city life. Each asset highlights the beautifully random occasions that prompt residents to order from Lieferando, emphasising that every moment is a Lieferando occasion.

With 'Auch ’n Anlass,' we aim to celebrate the unique spirit and diversity of each city, showing that no matter the occasion, Lieferando is here to deliver joy and convenience to your doorstep," said Rosita Ribeiro, marketing lead at Lieferando.

Tina Blech, creative director at DEPT®, shares, "This campaign was such a joy from beginning to end, getting the chance to collaborate with a client willing to think more brave, bold, wild, real. From initial concept phases full of 'naked-man-chasing-boar' memes to brainstorming copies that resonate (U8!) and shooting with absolute legends. Endless laughter throughout the team during a whole process is something so rare."

'Auch 'n Anlass' features a series of hyperlocal advertisements that capture city-specific insights. The concept was developed to drive top-of-mind brand awareness, making sure Lieferando is perceived for more occasions than an indulgent late-night treat. 

This is the first project DEPT® has developed for Lieferando. The agency has a longstanding relationship with Just Eat Takeaway, in the UK.
