The offline edit was completed on Media Composer in one of our boutique edit suites. The locked pictures were then picked up in Baselight and conformed back to the RAW RED 6K in preparation for Grade.
Made up of a mixture of intentionally spot lit theatre footage and historical race archive, the brief was to grade the new spot material in high contrast to really bring out the drama of the war horse and enhance the pace of the action.
Colourist Kenny Gibb used some quite heavy vignettes whilst defocusing the edges to really draw the eye into the centre of each frame. The audience was then graded with a warmer feel to really separate the two areas of the theatre.
