FCB Aotearoa has promoted senior creative Tim Gavriel and senior art director Aaron Carbines to associate creative directors, after nearly four years at the agency.
Having first paired up nearly a decade ago at DDB Aotearoa, Tim and Aaron’s creative journey has taken them from Auckland to London. During their tenure, they’ve helped win pitches, mentored the next pool of creative talent, and delivered award-winning work for both local and global clients.
Since joining FCB in 2021, they’ve been behind some of the agency’s most talked-about and recognised work, including 'Pak’n’Rave', 'The Adternship', and 'Borrow the Brand' for Pak’nSave; 'Survive the Drive' for NZ Police; 'Tux Puppy Pee Paper', which was crowned the winner of NZME’s Imprint Competition; as well as playing a key role in launching the 'Bring the Buzz' brand platform for Mercury, and 'Don’t Let the Drugs Drive' for Waka Kotahi.
FCB Aotearoa CCO Leisa Wall said, “Tim and Aaron are humble, hungry, and just really good at what they do. They’ve proven time and again that they can deliver ideas that get noticed, move people, and move business. I couldn’t be happier to see them step up. Now that they’re ACDs, they’ll be trusted to say, ‘That’s not on brand,’ with alarming regularity.”
Tim said of his appointment, “We’ve spent a long time trying to finely tune our creative point of view, but I’m chuffed FCB has always picked up what we’ve put down. I couldn’t be more excited for this new fancy three-barrelled title, and couldn’t be less excited to explain that title to my parents.”
Aaron added, “Excited for the step up, and looking forward to receiving the door code for the prestigious executive bathrooms that Vegas always went on about.”
