Sohonet, the global leader in media collaboration solutions for the film and television industry, has announced the appointment of Erik Strauss as chief product officer. Erik brings extensive experience in driving transformative change within the media and entertainment industry.

In his previous roles at Netflix, Epic Games and Sony Imageworks, Erik’s visionary leadership and ability to scale innovative technologies made a lasting impact on content creation and production workflows. Erik led Netflix’s development of scalable media workflow tools and cloud-based animation technology, which significantly expanded the company’s global content creation capacity. As director of production for Unreal Engine, he played a key role in advancing Epic Games’ real-time graphics industry across various sectors.
Erik continues as chair of the Open Review Initiative at the Academy Software Foundation, and is leading efforts focused on standardisation and interoperability of playback and review technologies in the open-source software community.
