Edelman, the global communications firm, announces Emma De La Fosse as chief creative officer, Edelman UK.
Emma’s appointment further demonstrates Edelman’s commitment to being a creative force. Emma takes the reins in the UK from dynamic duo Mattias and Stefan Ronge who have been leading Edelman’s creative teams across the EMEA region since they were acquired by Edelman in 2014. These teams have created multi-award-winning campaigns like Ikea, Buy Back Friday; Halo, Masterpiece; and National Grid, Green Light Signal as well as Asics, Eternal Run, which won the Cannes Lions Entertainment Lions Grand Prix. In 2021, Edelman UK was also recognised as one of the top 10 ‘best and bravest agencies on the planet’ by Contagious Magazine in their Contagious Pioneers List. Mattias and Stefan will continue in their roles as chief creative officers, EMEA leading the creative community across the region which Emma will be joining.
Emma has a stellar reputation for creative vision and craft which will play an important role in the next evolution of Edelman’s creative impact and influence. As CCO, Emma will steward the creative team who work in lockstep with Edelman’s strategy, digital, and DxI teams to leverage the full spectrum of Edelman’s capabilities.
Emma has been chief creative officer at both Ogilvy UK and Digitas UK. Under her co-leadership, OgilvyOne became the most highly awarded digital and direct agency in the UK. She became the first ever Group CCO of Ogilvy UK in 2016, incorporating brand advertising, brand design, customer engagement, social, PR and B2B agencies. Her most recent position was CCO for one of the UK’s foremost digital agencies, Digitas UK, a company whose creative fortunes and reputation she helped to rebuild.
Emma has also been the ECD for many famous brands such as IBM, British Airways, British Gas, Kimberly Clark and Kelloggs, and her and her teams have landed every major international award from D&AD Yellow Pencils, Cannes Grand Prix, One Show ‘Best in Show’ and DMA Grand Prix through to multiple Effie awards for effectiveness.
Ruth Warder, CEO, Edelman UK, said: “Creativity has always been at the heart of our business. Our continued investment in our creative firepower over the last decade has not only resulted in award winning work, but in deep integration with creative across all areas of our business like sustainability, purpose, employee experience, and B2B. This uniquely places us to address the most difficult challenges businesses and brands are facing today. In Emma we have someone who has a wealth of experience working at the forefront of digital and creative with extensive knowledge of how to cut through and reach audiences in innovative ways across the full channel mix.”
Emma De La Fosse said: “I am very excited to be joining Ruth and the team at Edelman. They are the most relevant of agencies right now. The world has moved on from a time when it was enough for brands to say the right thing– now customers judge them on whether they are doing the right thing. Smart CMOs and CCOs know that brand behaviour is the starting point for effective, cross platform brand campaigns and in Edelman they have a partner with the talent, tools, and capabilities to innovatively and creatively engage the full audience spectrum.”
