Electric Theatre Collective are excited to have doubled their colour production department in the last couple of weeks, welcoming Mikael Nakkas and George Blomiley as colour producers as Ollie Whitworth steps up to head of colour production.
Alongside veteran colour producer Alex Carswell, Mikael and George will manage each job that runs through the fast paced and well established colour department.
Mikael joins from Wash, where he specialised mainly in short-form but worked a few TV series and the odd feature film. Some of his project highlights include - Cadbury 'Crème Egg', Louis Theroux 'Jiggle Jiggle' and Tiggs Da Author ft Nines 'Fly Em High'. Having started his career in live action production, working on commercials and promos, Mikael grew an interest in colour grading and made the switch to post. Mikael is also into music and partial to crafting a playlist or two (although he’s not been brave enough to play one in the office yet).
George joins Electric from Creative Outpost where he worked on projects such as Dave and Central Cee’s ‘Sprinter’. As many have done before, George started as a runner at Big Buoy before swiftly rising through the ranks and becoming a bonafide producer, working on BAFTA award winning film ‘An Irish Goodbye’. When he’s not in work mode, George is in the gym or in the pub with his mates (that's what you call balance!).
Ollie Whitworth said, "We are thrilled to have Mikael and George join our Colour team. Straight off the bat they complete the team, with a wealth of diverse experience. It gives ETC even greater bandwidth to take care of our clients and support projects across all formats at the highest level. We are excited to see them develop in the role."
Mikael> On the latter: Ask questions and be curious, engage with every department and try to learn a little about everything – then keep expanding that knowledge.
George> Learning the process of post takes time, don’t try to run before you can walk and just be good person, no one wants to help a know it all
George> Richard Gadd I reckon
Mikael> Guinness, their pedigree of creative work speaks for itself.
George> Palace, I'm a fan of their clothes and I love the looks they go for plus the films are always a vibe
Mikael> Drake is overrated IMO. Kendrick all the way
George> Kung Fu Kenny obviously!
MN: For me, it’s who I’ve worked with that makes it a favourite or memorable one. That and if it's shot on film, do love a 16mm especially.
George> Sprinter jumps straight to the front of my mind, being a fan of both artists and working with Nathan Tetty, it was a whirlwind of a day with it ending with us watching the film and song goes live in the suite with Dave himself was such a rewarding experience
Mikael> Been an admirer from afar for a while, the work and the talent here. It was a pretty easy decision.
George> The calibre of work that comes out of ETC is 2nd to none and the culture here is unreal so I jumped at the chance to be a part of a great team.
Mikael> Not England, sorry … not sorry
George> Hey Siri, play it’s coming home
Mikael> David Gray
George> Not gonna lie, I do like a bit of the 1975
