Eleanor Celebrates Director Chris Chuky’s Addition to the UK Roster

Drawn to high drama, emotive performances and elaborate production design, Chris Chuky’s cinematic poetry evokes a romantic, vintage flair, while daring to delve into turbulent storylines. 

Winner of the BMW Filmmaking Challenge, in partnership with the BFI and mentored by Michaela Coel, his subversive two-minute short film, ‘Blades’, challenges audiences’ preconceptions with a remarkable twist. 

While much of Chris’ portfolio explores theatrical, emotional narratives, his gift for satire shines in ‘Yodel Rap’, a Channel 4 X Domino’s mockumentary following the rise of The Yodel Boiz, a fictional drill music group influenced by yodelling.

Chris most recently worked with Jack Daniel’s and polymath musical artist Wesley Joseph for a campaign developed by creative agency Iris. The first of two 30" films for the global whiskey brand goes live on Tuesday 18th April and explores Wesley's perspective as a musician and what it means to ‘make it count’ in the music industry. The films were shot on location at Brutalist icons Barbican and Trellick Tower.
