Editor Dave Warren Joins Square Peg

Square Peg is thrilled to announce the addition of Dave Warren to its roster of talented editors. Dave brings with him over 20 years of experience in the industry, having worked on a wide array of projects, from global commercial campaigns to music videos and short films.

Dave originally studied fine art and graphic design, which eventually led him to a career in visual effects at the Emmy-award-winning post-production house, Rushes. His original goal to become a flame artist was derailed when Dave discovered his true passion for editing and visual storytelling, a passion that has driven his career ever since. This led Dave to join Nomad Editing as an edit assistant and he quickly worked his way up to a full-time editor. As his skill and reputation grew, he was afforded opportunities to work on several high-profile projects, cutting on set at some of Hollywood's most famous stages and working on prestigious international commercials and music videos. Dave's experience and grounding in VFX has built a keen interest for the technical aspects of editing, and he still loves to work on challenging VFX heavy projects.

Over the past decade and a half, Dave has honed his editing craft and is fast becoming one of the most sought-after editors in London. He’s had the privilege of working with some of the world's most iconic brands, including Apple, Google, Meta, and Ford. His work has been featured in numerous international campaigns, earning recognition at prestigious award festivals, including the British Arrows, D&AD, AICP, 1.4, Webby Awards, and Immortal Awards.

Dave maintains a diverse portfolio that includes music videos and short films. He is known for infusing a compelling emotional narrative into his projects, marked by beauty, craftsmanship, and thoughtful execution. His ability to weave an emotional story through editing has made him a favourite among directors and creatives alike.

Dave is excited to continue exploring new creative challenges and is eager to immerse himself within all genres including commercial work, music videos and short films. He firmly believes there is a special freedom for experimentation and creative expression that music videos and short films afford an editor. Dave is also passionate about collaborating with up-and-coming directors, helping to bring fresh ideas and new techniques to life.

Out of the editing suite, Dave has a zest for life and adventure, a long-held ambition for climbing mount Everest, closer to home he’s a self-confessed cycling fanatic who can often be found cycling through the Kent countryside. A keen reader and art lover Dave draws on inspiration from the likes of Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon.
