Rabbit is pleased to announce that director Dylan River has joined its roster of directors.
Dylan is a rising star of the Australian screen industry, whose work as director and cinematographer has received numerous awards and accolades. His filmmaking has been praised for its visual craft as well as command of performance and tone.
Dylan joins Rabbit just after the release of critically acclaimed Stan Originals series ‘Thou Shalt Not Steal’ - a road trip comedy drama series he co-created and directed, starring Noah Taylor, Miranda Otto, Will McDonald, and Sherry-Lee Watson.
"River bolts out of the gates and maintains a rambunctiously entertaining tone until the very last scene, which (no spoilers) is a great example of an upbeat ending that doesn’t come at the cost of edge or sass. Thou Shalt Not Steal has future classic written all over it. ★★★★★" - Luke Buckmaster, The Guardian.
Other longform directorial credits include ‘Mystery Road: Origin’ (Best Direction in Drama or Comedy, Best Television Drama Series, AACTA Awards, 2022), ‘Robbie Hood’ (Best Online Comedy or Drama, AACTA Awards, 2019), and the feature documentary ‘Finke: There and Back’ (2018).
Marcus Butler, associate EP at Rabbit says, “We're so excited to have Dylan joining the team. He's an incredibly versatile director with a great body of work to back him up. I'm very much looking forward to collaborating on future projects together."
Dylan River said on joining Rabbit, "I love cars, I love beer and I live in the outback… and I’d love to shoot your ideas for all of them. After just finishing my series, I’m keen to throw myself into some commercial projects. I'm super excited to hit the ground running with the team at Rabbit."
