Ancestry’s latest campaign celebrates the amazing discoveries you can find in all the historical records available on the Ancestry platform. It focuses on all the small details found within these records, that when pieced together, build a rich picture of an ancestor.
The spots were created with Academy and Emmy Award winning LA based production outfit Elastic. Their expertise in opening title sequences for TV shows such as Game Of Thrones and The Last Dance, helped perfectly bring to life an array of historical records and photography to create an engaging story in a short amount of time. All captured in one camera move, we slowly reveal the portrait of an ancestor, the face becoming clearer with every discovery made.
The campaign launches with one of two 30 second spots, which shows the discovery of a Great, Great-Aunt and her links to the Suffragette movement - a story, drawn from real historical records from The National Archives available on Ancestry.
The brand campaign is supported by a set of six idents sponsoring ITV’s real life stories.
Each spot dramatises discoveries by traveling through a small historical detail to reveal a bigger picture of ancestor.
The campaign will continue to run across the year, spanning press, radio, OOH, social and digital.
