Director Daniel Wirtberg Signs to Hobby Film

Wirtberg has attracted attention for his poetic short films and multiple award-winning music videos for artists such as Jenny Wilson, Miike Snow, Little Dragon and First Aid Kit.

Since graduating from the Czech Film School he has experimented heavily with imagery and form over the years and moves seamlessly between fiction films, music videos and now commercials.

His films have been screened at a vast number of film festivals, cinemas and network TV. His upcoming project, ºıı˙∞˚ ‡ ˚ ^ '^^ ˚, will be exhibited in collaboration with Studio Bon.

'I have always been interested in exploring the relationship between image and sound to portray states of mind and create different atmospheres. Whether I'm working on a video installation, a script, a piece of music or a hybrid, I assume a strong visual intuition and I love to nail the right emotional expressions and mannerisms in each work. In terms of format I prefer analogue film! Or sometimes Super-VHS. We are very excited to see what my background and my expression can bring to the commercial world and I look forward to many cross-border collaborations and new approach to how commercials can look and feel, inspired by both music videos as well as arthouse films.’ - Daniel Wirtberg.
