Brooklyn and Los Angeles-based Greenpoint Pictures has produced a new promo for Dune Film/ESPN, directed by ROOS (Josh and Logan Roos). The film features rising football stars CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys and DeVonta Smith of the Philadelphia Eagles.
“The creative was eye-catching to us as it was the perfect opportunity to combine our love for sports and sci-fi,” says ROOS. “And there’s no better way to do that than bringing two of the NFL’s biggest young talents into the Dune universe and letting them battle it out.”
As the film opens, the viewer meets CeeDee Lamb eye-to-eye set against a stark sky and the otherworldly presence of the sand dunes. Stalwart and fearless, he steadies his mind for the adventure ahead. The film shifts and we meet the eyes of the second warrior, DeVonta Smith, who prepares himself for the competition at-hand. Epic sandstorms, apocalyptic eclipses, and flaming meteor footballs heighten the drama as the wide receivers take their battle from gridiron to the unyielding dunes.
“Our Utah based production fam were top-notch, ESPN creative team was awesome and really leaned into creating the most Dune’ish experience,” add ROOS. “CeeDee and DeVonta were incredibly sweet guys and a pleasure to work with on this.”
