Creativity is fluid and ever-changing. And culturally, we’re in the midst of a revolution. In the face of emerging technologies, ethics and ‘doing less with more’, creativity and design is at risk of becoming homogeneous. On May 10th, digital agency DEPT® is organising an event in London, with some of its global creative leads:
Liza Enebeis, creative director at STUDIO DUMBAR/DEPT®, D&AD Board member, and world-renowned speaker, is a creative pioneer, leading multi-award winning work for brands such as MTV VMAs, adidas, Spotify, and more.
Steven Denekas, chief creative officer at BASIC/DEPT®, has worked with some of the world’s most admired brands including Patagonia, Beats by Dre, Harrods and KFC.
They will be joined by DEPT®’s design director, Ruban Yogaratnam, and creative director, Coralie Carré, to share their wisdom on how, as creatives, we can retain the originality (and joy) of what we do in the face of cultural revolution.
With keynote talks, a panel Q&A and plenty of time for mingling with speakers and other senior creatives, we’re looking forward to an afternoon of connection and creativity.
For more details and to save your spot, please register here. And if a fellow senior creative would like to join us, please just ask them to register via the link.

PROGRAMME
🌊 Creativity comes from a diffuse state
Steven Denekas, chief creative officer at BASIC/DEPT® and global SVP of creative at DEPT®
Today, we are a society of constant distractions. True creativity and good design allows us to find our flow state, and allows us to reconnect to the curiosity of the person sitting, standing, working or living next to us.
With a simple mission to “make work that creates legacies”, Steven will share his belief in this approach, leading him to deliver award winning work for some of the world’s most admired brands, including Levi’s and KFC.
🔉 Sound and motion in branding
Liza Enebeis, creative director at STUDIO DUMBAR/DEPT® and global SVP of experience at DEPT®
Brands have migrated to a purely digital realm, opening up a myriad of possibilities. Yet their content is often copy and pasted across all devices and formats. By challenging traditions and putting the freedom of movement and sound at the heart of a brand’s identity is how its messages can evolve seamlessly across existing and future media formats.
Liza will talk you through her team’s process, mentality, focus, and how they adapt to a changing landscape to create for brands like MTV VMAs and the Van Gogh Museum.
🔮 Thing makers: cultivating creativity
Ruban Yogaratnam, design director, DEPT®
To continually grow, evolve and innovate, creative itches need to be scratched. And it’s a creative lead’s job to ensure that teams are inspired to scratch them. Enter: Thing makers.
In this session, Ruban will introduce his approach to creative R&D, and how his team are challenged to adopt creative thinking to enhance their skills while developing innovative solutions for clients including eBay, Prime Video, ASOS and Twitch.
