Creative PR agency The Romans and longstanding client partner Deliveroo have made one of the biggest signings of 2025 - tapping up teen darts sensation Luke Littler to help find the nation’s best kebab restaurant.
The top sporting champion has been recruited to help score a whole new kind of treble for the delivery app; to celebrate the nation’s most-loved takeaways, get Brits supporting their local restaurants and reintroduce an award that only the ‘King of the Oche’ could do - the Luke Littler x Deliveroo Best Kebab Award.
In new imagery released today, Luke is seen swapping the darts hall for a kebab restaurant - to announce the return of the highly coveted Best Kebab Award, back in business following a three-year hiatus.
Having shown plenty of support for his hometown kebab spot in the past, Luke has been onboarded to encourage the nation to do the same, and hit a bullseye on their favourite kebab restaurant.
Beth Arnold, creative at The Romans said, “Luke Littler is undoubtedly at the heart of Britain’s booming kebab renaissance. So when Deliveroo tasked us with making a splash for its Restaurant Awards this year, we spotted a prime opportunity to relaunch its beloved Best Kebab Award after a three-year hiatus - and who better to help us do so than the kebab connoisseur himself.
Swapping bullseyes for the best babs in the business, we enlisted ‘The Nuke’s’ expertise to help us unveil the top kebab houses on the platform and give the legendary late night staple the recognition it deserves.”
Arabella Jenkins, head of consumer comms UKI at Deliveroo said, “Our annual Restaurant Awards campaign celebrates the local restaurants who go above and beyond to create incredible food experiences for our customers.
With this being a recurring campaign and brand awards being a competitive space, our challenge was to uncover new insights and angles that would help us drive fame and cultural relevancy for the awards in 2025.
Working with our PR agency The Romans, we identified an opportunity to align a trending talent with an overlooked category in our line-up of cuisine awards - the kebab award. Not only is Luke Littler a darts world champion, conveniently for us, his widely publicised penchant for the beloved kebab made him the perfect ambassador to give the reimagined category his seal of approval.”
Whilst Luke has had a hand in picking the ten finalists for the Best Kebab, it’s up to the nation to decide the champion. The new kebab category is now open for the public to vote on the 2025 Deliveroo Restaurant Awards website here, along with the other 65 categories that recognise the nation’s long-standing love for a takeaway, with everything from ramen and red curries to sushi and salad. Voting closes on 9th May.
