BICEPS joins for Canadian representation

Dearfriend.tv welcomes BICEPS - Aka Victor 'Zipi' Aguilar to its roster. Known for his sharp comedic instincts, bold visual language, and ability to craft effortlessly cool work.. BICEPS brings a unique voice to the Canadian market. 

Before directing, Zipi made his mark as a creative director at McCann, Shackleton, and Contrapunto, earning multiple accolades, including several Cannes Lions. Since stepping into the directors chair, he’s built a global reputation and developed a signature style earning him several international awards along the way, including two Cannes Lions for Burger Kings 'Even More Confusing Times'. 

“Zipi brings a flavour that we feel is underrepresented in the Canadian market,” says Garth Collins at Dearfriend. “His work is fresh, perfectly paced, and full of personality. He knows how to make a brand feel alive in a way that audiences truly connect with.”

His ability to weave stories within stories, and characters that have their own mini arc, paired with his distinctive visual aesthetic has given him global recognition and Dearfriend is thrilled to bring his vision to Canada. 

Mark Chisholm, executive producer at Dearfriend.tv, shared his thoughts on what makes Zipi stand out, “What I love about working with Zipi is his work ethic. He puts everything he has into each phase of production and challenges himself and the team to always look deeper. Whether it’s scouting locations, wardrobe, or casting, he pushes. On set, he’s a wizard - not only with performance but also with the nuanced details of the worlds he builds. Zipi finds his north star of tone from the first briefing, tells mini-stories within stories of his characters, and executes right up to the last take.” 

With a project already in the can for CIBC, BICEPS and Dearfriend quickly found a creative rhythm. Now, with their partnership officially in place, they’re setting their sights on 2025 - ready to bring his bold storytelling to more Canadian agencies and brands.
