Cutting Edge Works on Australian Detective Drama Jack Irish
Cutting Edge recently worked on television detective drama Jack Irish, originally a series of telemovies adapted from the novels by Peter Temple. The TV series stars Aussie actor Guy Pearce in the lead role as a former criminal lawyer turned private investigator and debt collector, with co-stars Marta Dusseldorp and Roy Billing to name a few of the all-star cast.
Continuing onto the next series for broadcaster ABC TV, Essential Media came to Cutting Edge for rushes, editorial, conform, grade and online through to delivery.
“Being able to collaborate with the very talented director of photography, Martin McGrath, and getting to work on his wonderfully imaginative pictures was a major highlight for the team,” Cutting Edge head of features and television Marcus Bolton said.
Tasked with picking up the look and feel of an already established telemovie, meant the team rose to the challenge to successfully emulate an already recognised series aesthetic with style and conviction.
Jack Irish producer Ian Collie said: “Three cheers to the team at Cutting Edge. Their commitment, professionalism and responsiveness to our feedback was very impressive".
