Following its reboot earlier this year, Cresta, the 26 year old creative awards festival, has for the first time been invited to join The Big Won.
Gordon Young, founder of The Drum and publisher of The Big Won, made the following statement on LinkedIn: “Each year The Drum’s Big Won and what was once called The Gunn Report compete to be top cat in terms of producing reports on the world most creative agencies by aggregating awards data. But it appears we are now diverging in terms of methodology. Gunn - now rebranded as WARC Creative 100 - is rationalising the number of awards used in its study, preferring to focus on events either organised by its new parent Ascential or schemes that are too big to ignore. The Drum on the other hand is aiming to be as inclusive as possible.”
Lewis Blackwell, the new CEO of Cresta, added: “It is fundamental to our revamp of Cresta that we show how awards can deliver more value to our entrants. Being invited to join The Big Won is just the first of many initiatives that we believe will provide agencies with a better return on their often considerable investment in awards.”
