Creative Team Jordan Hamer and Spencer Ryan Join One Twenty Three West

In December of 2023 the partners at advertising and design agency One Twenty Three West set some very lofty creative goals. “We set the goal that in four years we want to be the best agency in the country for both advertising and design,” said founder and co-CCO Rob Sweetman. Those goals started with an extensive search for creative leadership in Toronto. “We had Spencer and Jordan at the very top of our list. Once we connected with them we quickly realised how alike we are in our taste, goals and what we think is good advertising. Having them join us is a massive step toward our creative goals.” said Rob. 

The duo have been one of the most prolific, awarded teams in Canada for over a decade at BBDO, lg2, Cossette and most recently, Broke Heart Love Affair. Their incredible body of work includes work for the ROM, Burger King, The SickKids Foundation, Egg Farmers of Canada, McDonald’s, Nike and many more. “What’s incredible about their work is that it’s so iconic and unmissable. Their work ranges from funny to weird to dramatic to just really smart, but it’s always so damn good.” said founder and co-CCO Bryan Collins. 

One of the key factors in their joining was the strong integration of design that One Twenty Three West has at the core. “Both Jordan and Spencer are great people at the top of their game who really believe in the power of both advertising and design. And that’s One Twenty Three West in a nutshell. It’s going to be a great fit and I can’t wait to start working with them.” said Mo Bofill, partner and co-CCO. 

The duo are stepping into a leadership role and will have a hand in all aspects of the agency, but will still be creating and crafting their own work. “We’ve always admired the work and mission of One Twenty Three West, and as soon as we met with the partners there, it felt like a really natural fit. Everything kind of aligned to be a great opportunity to start the next chapter of our careers, both to develop great creative work, and learn and grow as leaders. To say we’re excited would be an understatement.” said Jordan Hamer. 

Both will start on July 22nd and will be working with teams and clients across the country. “It may seem like an over-simplification, but we just want to help make 123w a really fun place to work at, and with. For creatives, for marketers, and for production partners. We want the most talented people to make killer work and have a blast making it. Period.
