The Black Dog US director takes in some breath-taking scenery in his new ‘Wild Life’ video
RSA Films director Christian Lamb has shot a cinematic music video for OneRepublic. Christian found himself and his production team fleeing eight locations across three states because of the California wildfires, before Google Earth landed them at Washington state’s Ruby Beach and Hoh Rainforest.
Shot with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and dancers Matthew Gibbs and Courtney Scarr, the video and the dancers reflect two halves of one mind. Genna Moroni’s choreography shows Matthew’s movements as technical and methodical, and Courtney’s as free flowing and intuitive, echoing both the song’s lyrics and their surroundings.
‘Wild Life’ is Christian’s latest collaboration with OneRepublic, and began with the basic idea of literally bringing the song title and lyrics to life. It grew to a story immersed in nature, against a backdrop of infinite wilderness and open ocean. "The Pacific Northwest always felt right,” Christian commented. “We just needed a little luck.”
