London-based boutique colour grading and finishing house CHEAT had a great year in 2017.
To celebrate it they have gathered the highlights of three of their colourists into these animated gifs to give them some appreciation.
Have a look at the work graded and finished by these three colourists below and learn more about their successful work for CHEAT that they completed last year.
Toby Tomkins
Following on from the success of 2016 with a nod from the British Arrows for his work on Amstel ‘Pass it on’, Toby continued to craft exceptionally cinematic commercials, including spots for Booking.com, Under Armour, Sky Sports and Audi. He also developed the look for CHEAT’s first major Netflix series The End of the F***ing World and Kaleidoscope, staring Toby Jones. “2017 was a year of appreciation and admiration, for my extended family that we all know as CHEAT.”
Joseph Bicknell
Starting off the year colouring the slasher-comedy Double Date, 2017 saw Joseph creating bold looks on a range of commercial campaigns, including stand out films for Mercedes, Under Armour, Budweiser, and Vodafone, alongside promos for Wolf Alice, Tom Misch, Loyal Karna and Bjork. “It’s been a great year creatively for me, and I’ve worked hard to experiment and push the envelope, while keeping things authentic. The team has never been stronger here, and that’s definitely reflected in my work too.”
Jax Harney
Building on her extensive fashion background, Jax completed the colour on her first feature film The Pugilist, alongside films for Vogue Italia, NedBank and Puma and was recognised for her work on Placebo’s ‘Life is what you make it’ at the Ibiza Music Video Awards. "2017 has been an incredible year fro me at CHEAT working alongside some super talented people, can't wait for 2018!!"
