With Pride events being cancelled this summer due to Covid-19, Fido and TAXI found a way for people to celebrate while respecting physical distancing rules.
The six-foot flag allows partners or friends to each grab a side and still be able to march their neighbourhoods safely at the appropriate distance.
This iteration of the Pride flag is the first example of how we can fill this new space between us with a message of hope. The flag reads ‘Together while apart’ placed in a way that references the physical distancing realities we’re all currently faced with.
“Fido has been a long term sponsor of Pride Festivals across Canada. Finding a new and inventive way to celebrate the LGBTQ2S+ community in this unprecedented time was crucial,” said Alexis Bronstorph, co-executive creative director at TAXI.
The six-foot flag for Pride will resonate with an LGBTQ2S+ community that is currently unable to take part in an important celebration that empowers us all to live authentically. The rest of the Fido Pride campaign will be running throughout the summer months, reminding us all to connect with others even though we’re further apart.
