CarMax, the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, has appointed 72andSunny Los Angeles its creative agency of record following a competitive pitch process.
The partnership marks a new chapter for CarMax as it looks to evolve its brand storytelling and reinforce its position as the most customer-centric car-buying and selling experience in the industry. 72andSunny will work with CarMax to bring to life the company’s innovative customer-centric offerings, refresh the brand, and connect with consumers in culturally relevant ways.
As creative AOR, 72andSunny will help develop CarMax’s go-to market approach, leading with a unified full-funnel creative vision. This will serve as the foundation for a long-term platform that drives successful creative executions. CarMax will work with 72andSunny to define an audience-first approach to meet customers where they are and use breakthrough creative to bring the company’s best-in-class omni-channel experience to the forefront.
72andSunny’s Los Angeles office will lead the account, overseen by managing director Emily Connelly. The creative will be led by executive creative director Lauren Smith, who has driven some of the agency’s most recognised work for leading brands like Adobe, Barbie, United Airlines and Venmo.
Debut work will be released this summer.
