Cinelab London show off the best Cannes Lions-winning campaigns shot on film
Everyone’s talking about the Grand Prix winners, but there’s one thing you may not have noticed. The Cannes Lions’ winners of 2018 are made of something else. It’s wasn’t just Straight8 making use of celluloid film at Cannes, but the world’s best production companies. Directors are flocking back to the much-loved medium for its unique aesthetic and its long term archival qualities.
Film Lab, Cinelab London has reported an exponential growth in film processing over the past three and a half years. In 2015, they processed 15 commercials, in 2016 the number nearly doubled to 26 and by 2017 over 157 commercials were shot on film. Fresh from the French Riviera, with a strapping 150 commercials under their belt already this year, they reveal the big Cannes Lions winners from the Grand Prix and Film / Film Craft categories who shot on film.
