The talent at creative studio BURN welcomes a pair of award wins following the Cannes Lions and Young Director Awards announcements.
Brady’s ‘War Stories’, directed by Greg Hardes and Aaron Chapman, has received a Bronze Cannes Lion in the Not-For-Profit category, while new addition to the roster LIAKH has been credited with a YDA for STAMMA’s ‘It’s How We Talk’.
The harrowing PSA for Brady shows a US Navy come to a jolting realisation that what reads like a first-hand account of war zone combat is actually a six year old’s letter reflecting on his experience of a mass shooting.
LIAKH’s stop motion film for STAMMA, meanwhile, highlights the many misconceptions faced by those with a stammer.
Both wins demonstrate BURN’s ethos of supporting and promoting emerging talent. Young director Aaron Chapman was brought onto the Brady campaign by BURN co-founder Greg Hardes, opening up the opportunity to work on a provocative campaign that would offer him exposure. With YDA and D&AD wins already under his belt, recent signing LIAKH also highlights the team’s ability to identify promising talent.
Brad Johns, managing director at BURN, comments: “Mentoring, supporting and exposing emerging talent to opportunities that allow them to explore their creativity is our real goal. What Greg, Aaron and LIAKH have achieved this year is a result of their dedication to honing their craft and we hope that agencies and brands alike continue to take a chance on emerging voices across the industry.”
