Stuart Hendler directs spot through Cramer-Krasselt Chicago

BRW FILMLAND Los Angeles director Stewart Hendler defines the enduring thrill and allure felt by sports car enthusiasts in the aspirational and artful new :60 “Believers” for Porsche out of Cramer-Krasselt, Chicago. The invigorating spot journeys from the early days of the sleek German automotive brand, following the youthful dream of the streamlined ride to the modern host of thrill-seeking, motivated, passionate and bold individuals who prefer modes of conveyance with some muscle under the hood.   

To fully encapsulate the style and precision of the brand new Porsche Macan for its U.S. launch, veteran sports car helmer and self-proclaimed car enthusiast Hendler laid the road for a production that would truly dazzle. He shot for five days, taking to the rich landscapes of northern California, matching the impressive features of the vehicle to the equally remarkable backdrops that the areas surrounding San Francisco and Oakland provide. Never one to shy away from extreme feats to secure an inspiring shot, Hendler used both the Pursuit Camera Car and helicopter to capture the sprawling shots of the Porsche crossing the Oakland Bay Bridge. Additionally, the production team traveled as far north as Tahoe to exemplify the vehicle’s range with panoramic snowscapes and the high-action ski shots.

The spot opens in a private garage filled with classic Porsches as a voiceover intones, “It’s for the collectors, the rebels, the dreamers, the free spirits, the go-getters and the passionate.  But really it’s for anyone who believes that any car should be a sports car.”  Throughout this list we’re introduced to a dreadlocked fellow (the rebel), a boy ogling a red Porsche (the dreamer) and a death-defying skier (the passionate).  Every “believer” featured either drives or admires the iconic automobile navigating beautiful mountains, cityscapes and beaches.     

The spot closes on the Porsche logo and tag, “Life.  Intensified.”
