Airline’s biggest ever giveaway, via BBH London

British Airways’ biggest ever ticket giveaway from Gatwick Airport gets underway next week, with hundreds of tickets available to win to top dream destinations.

From January 28 for a week, 48 pairs of tickets a day are up for grabs to commuters travelling through London’s busy Victoria Station from 8am to 8pm.

All they have to do to be in for a chance to win, is test their flight skills at an arcade-style flying game, specially built on the station’s main concourse.

It takes just 30 minutes by train from Victoria Station to Gatwick Airport where British Airways flies to more than 40 destinations, in Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Those taking part will be able to take the controls and ‘fly’ to a different place each day, with the most accurate flying every 15 minutes winning a pair of tickets to the featured destination.

Competition hotspots include flights to the Caribbean, North Africa, North American and the Indian Ocean.

Colm Lacy, British Airways head of commercial for Gatwick Airport, said: “We have hundreds of tickets to be given away to some fantastic destinations, so there’s something for everyone in our biggest ever Gatwick ticket giveaway.

“Flying a plane is a dream to many people. But not only can you try your hand at the latest flight game, but we’re also giving them chance to win tickets to a choice of dream locations, including on our newest route to Sir Lanka, which launches on April 14, 2013.”

Each day the stand will showcase the destination of the day as well as it being announced daily on the British Airways Facebook page and on Twitter feed from 8am.

Commuters can simply ‘check-in’ at the stand, receive a flight card allowing them to take the controls of a British Airways Boeing 777 aircraft and then compete against each other to see who has the most accurate flying. Every 15 minutes, the top scorer will win a pair of tickets.

Visitors to the British Airways Facebook page also have the opportunity each day to win a holiday, to the same daily destination.
