Apple teamed up with French illustrator and animator Simon Landrein to bring the spirit of play to the streets of France during the Paris Olympics. The Paris based artist, known for his bold and quirky style, created 23 unique illustrations of playful athletes, each tailored to its specific media space. Cartoon athletes leap off digital canvases, from metro entrances to large format buildings, onto the streets in thousands of locations in Paris and Marseille.
Simon’s unique illustrations capture key sports featured at the games in his signature style of elongated limbs and dynamic poses. As part of Apple’s ‘Made on iPad’ campaign, each piece was meticulously hand-drawn by Simon using a 13-inch iPad Pro M4 and Apple Pencil Pro, with the resulting illustrations injecting colour and energy in the cities’ streets.
The out of home campaign is accompanied by a behind-the-scenes film featuring Simon showcasing his creative process and the making of this vibrant and playful celebration of sport.
