Cue creaking doors and macabre ‘Mwa-ha-ha-ing’, for the devils at creative agency ‘Brave’ have created the world’s first online Trick or Treat social experience.
The #areyoubrave game takes the form of a frightful Facebook app, providing those souls brave enough to take the challenge with either a nice treat or a quite terrifying trick.
Plucky participants are pitted against an interactive Halloween themed quiz, with questions ranging from ‘What’s the most common murder weapon in horror films?’ through to the more personalised poser we’ve all asked ourselves: ‘Which of my friends is the most likely serial killer?’ – their final score dictating whether the player is tricked or treated. If treated players could win Halloween-themed goodies, but if tricked, the social kudos they value so dearly will be cruelly, publicly sacrificed…
Within 24 hours of signing away their online souls to the devil, those tricked will find their online presence possessed, releasing on their behalf a host of embarrassing, ghoulish, or just plain weird posts!
Ash Bendelow, MD of Brave, comments: “We were astonished to discover that no-one has taken the much-loved Halloween tradition of Trick and Treating and socialised it. Consequently, we felt it was our duty to discover the digital version of ‘being egged’, and create something fun and a little bit naughty to spice up Halloween for those that are brave enough!”
Come and have a go, if you think you’re Brave enough…
