Next gen agency by Boomerang, part of Publicis Groupe, launches in Belgium eight months after initial launch in the Netherlands

Boomerang FT., the sister agency of Boomerang, part of Publicis Groupe, has entered the Belgian creative advertising market in collaboration with freelance platform partners, YoungOnes during the annual Karel de Grote Hogeschool Antwerp Markethon.

Aimed at the next generation of creative talent between the ages of 16 and 24, Boomerang FT. serves as an alternative option to the traditional side-job, offering youngsters the opportunity to explore the advertising industry.

“It’s an amazing achievement for us to expand into Europe, less than a year since we pitched the initial FT. concept,” says Renee van den Oetelaar, Head of Boomerang FT. “We are so excited that the idea has taken on a life of its own in the Netherlands, and now it’s time to cross borders and offer the FT. experience to young Belgian creative talent.”

“The Karel de Grote University College’s Markethon is the perfect platform to introduce Boomerang FT. into the country and we are very happy that we can partner with them this year,” continues van den Oetelaar.

The event kicks off from the 26th - 28th April and sees approximately 200 first-year marketing students experience first hand on how to approach a creative briefing: from doing research and developing a strategy to creating concepts and pitching a big idea. The five best ideas will then be pitched to the briefing client a few weeks later at their headquarters, which this year is The Walt Disney Company.

"The Markethon offers a unique opportunity for students to learn how to work from a briefing to a pitch in practice for a major client like Disney," continues van den Oetelaar. "In addition, this event is the perfect way to introduce ourselves to the Belgian market together with Young Ones and look for the next generation of freelance talent aiming to fill a creative part-time job through our gig platform.”
