30 years after the release of the 205 GTi, Peugeot and Peugeot Sport are reigniting the legend by marketing a particularly extreme version of the 208 GTi, which features a two-tone paint scheme (gloss red and matte black), 1.6L THP, and delivers a sensational 208 horsepower and 300 Nm torque to the driver.
For the campaign, Peugeot and its agencies BETC and Havas Düsseldorf, are putting a contemporary spin on one of the most emblematic ads the brand has ever made : 205 GTi and the bombardier (director : Gerard Pirès).
Behind the wheel of this nod to the historical film sits the group the Andy’s (Wizz Production), known for their animation work for Ubisoft (The Crew, Zombie U ). Using technical prowess, they portray 30 years of progress in film-making technology in 90 seconds, giving us a dramatic demonstration of the boldness of the 208 GTi 30th.
The campaign also features an extensive digital media plan that will accompany the film’s online launch in the same manner as the release of a Hollywood blockbuster, including access to extras (making of, bonus scenes, movie posters, photos, vines, etc.). Fans will be able to discuss the campaign on social media using the hashtags #GTiLegend and #Peugeot208GTi30th
