Great Guns represented director Peter Dietrich directs this magical spot in collaboration with Red Horse based in Shanghai for Asian electronics company OPPO, through BBDO China

This online branded entertainment film shot over 4 days in Barcelona with the Spanish DoP Oscar Faura, showcases the new OPPO Find 7 smartphone.

The film twists through time and a few ‘magic tricks’ to show how a young guy finds his alter ego.   Played by London based actor David Atkins, the young man uncovers tricks and reveals things people prefer to keep hidden.  Right up until the moment where he finds out who he really is.  A magic trick and a black box brings him back to the past where his story begins. During this time-warp-journey an Oppo Find 7 phablet  is the only connection to the presence.

Peter comments on the film, “It was my first branded entertainment project.  Actually I’ve never worked on such an unusual multi-layered narration. I liked the concept of BBDO Creative Director Frank Zhao from scratch.

The original idea was slightly more serious but I thought it could be a little light hearted and absurd. Luckily, the creatives and I were on the same page.

During the production we faced quite a few challenges; multiple locations, big sets, lots of extras appearing in different time zones, countless wardrobe changes, creative tasks for the art director as well as extensive CGI elements to tackle.

The whole team was marvellous, each member of the international crew was amazing, skilled and contributed during this magical mystery tour”
