Award-winning, super-premium spirits brand Barr Hill Gin has appointed Terri & Sandy as its first agency of record, as the brand looks to bring its beloved product to an expanded national audience.
Founded by a Vermont beekeeper in 2011, Barr Hill Gin is made with raw honey to create a uniquely complex botanical profile and smoothness. It’s also the rare distiller-owned and operated spirits business, run by Ryan Christiansen, President and Head Distiller. The distillery has earned 50 gold or higher medals, making Barr Hill America’s most awarded gin, and received the first-ever perfect score of 100 points from USA Spirits Rating in 2020.
Barr Hill Gin quickly gained an ardent following among spirits lovers in its backyard of Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts. Distribution has grown to include 32 states and the award-winning gin has become the #1 top-selling US super premium gin. 100% of Barr Hill Gin is produced in the distillery’s sustainability-designed facility on the banks of the Winooski River in charming Montpelier, Vermont.
Barr Hill is partnering with Terri & Sandy to raise awareness of its unique 'Landcrafted' approach to distillation, including the use of raw honey in its gin and an annual event to save the bees called “Bee’s Knees Week,” which has become the largest sustainability event in the spirits industry.
Terri & Sandy won the business in a competitive pitch. Barr Hill has done some limited print and digital advertising in the past but has almost entirely relied on product sampling and word of mouth through its rampant fan-base following up to this point. Terri & Sandy will be responsible for creating a platform and campaign to help the brand expand nationally, and the work will launch across digital, online video, experiential and OOH channels.
While the primary focus will be on gin, some attention will be devoted to parent company Caledonia Spirits’ other two brands: Barr Hill Tom Cat Gin and Barr Hill Vodka.
