Having worked on a very successful project for McDonald´s Germany, it felt only natural for Abelone Films to welcome Magnus as a part of the family. “I’m thrilled to be signed by Abelone Films for exclusive representation in Germany, our shared approach to redefine visual storytelling connects and enables us to create original work”, outlined Magnus.
Magnus hails from Gothenburg, Sweden. Producing music, art, and films has always been an integral part of his life. His creative journey began in his parents’ basement, where he crafted horror movies and animated art films.
Interestingly, his roots lie in the art scene, where he first gained recognition for his talent in painting. During art school, he created large-scale paintings while also directing music videos for various Swedish rap, pop, and indie artists. His portfolio includes a collaboration with British singer-songwriter Tom Odell for the music video 'I Know.' This was the beginning of his journey as a director.
His keen eye for beauty in small details and his ability to find humour in the serious define his work. With over two decades of experience in film directing and editing, Magnus brings a unique blend of authenticity, rhythm, warmth, and lightness to his projects. 'His workflow is about pushing creative boundaries and redefining visual storytelling,' shared executive producer Sören Haxholm.
The heart of his work is a harmonious combination of charm and playfulness which is also common thread throughout his films and allows for a versatile approach that adapts to different genres and storytelling styles. Throughout his career, he has created an impressive range of award-winning music videos and TVCs and has worked with global brands such as Coca-Cola, Spotify, McDonald's, Google, Ikea and Lidl.
“People can identify with Magnus' work due to the sympathetic charm and upstaged moments. That is something that makes his work unique and fun to watch”, shared Inga Schlüter and Sören Haxholm executive producers from Abelone Films. “We couldn’t be happier to announced that he is on board” they add. “Magnus brings a fresh edge to the way of directing, it is a blessing to realise projects with him, he has the gift of assembling an interesting cast that takes the project to another level”, commented Inga Schlüter.
"We believe that we will create in the future more outstanding work that people can identify with."
