Richmond-based Arts & Letters Creative Co., which opened its doors in November 2017, has brought on Danielle Flagg and Jed Grossman as executive creative directors. They join founder Charles Hodges to round out the agency’s creative leadership team. Together, Charles, Danielle and Jed will oversee all creative strategy and execution for the growing agency and its clients.
Most recently, Danielle was executive creative director at MAL\FORGOOD and TBWA\Media Arts Lab leading work for Apple, Emerson Collective, Conservation International and The One Love Foundation, while Jed joins Arts & Letters from B-Reel, NY, where he was managing creative director on Google, MTV and Facebook.
Danielle brings over 25 years of creative leadership experience to Arts & Letters, 17 of those from Wieden+Kennedy Portland. There she led work on Nike, Starbucks, Target, Levis and P&G before heading to TWBA\Media Arts Lab and MAL\FORGOOD. To her credit, Danielle has been creative lead on award-winning work for campaigns like P&G’s Olympic Campaign ‘P+G Proud Sponsor of Moms’; Levi’s ‘Go Forth’ and ‘Girl Effect’ for the Nike Foundation, which she moved to Ethiopia to lead for six months.
Jed got his start as a creative over 15 years ago at Crispin Porter + Bogusky working as an art director on MINI and Burger King. A few years later Jed headed back to NY, eventually landing at Mother, and spent the next 8 years leading category-breaking work for Virgin Mobile, Sour Patch Kids, Tanqueray, and New Balance, before assuming the Managing Creative Director role at B-Reel.
Hodges remarks: “We’re growing quickly, but at a level of quality that's exciting – from 17 employees when we launched last November to 35 today. We needed to bring in the best in creative leadership to help shape the company and support the level of work we want to reach for our client partners."
He continues, “Danielle’s vision and courage as a creative leader is both unwavering and unmatched. She has a long history of creating breakthrough work, and simply being around her is a constant inspiration to any and everyone. Jed’s belief in the power of ideas is infectious. He understands the way the world works today, yet has the timeless traits of concept, rigour and kindness that are the hallmarks of any modern leader. We're all very excited to see what the future holds."
As Arts & Letters’ executive creative directors, Danielle and Jed also round out the agency’s senior management team, made up of Hodges; managing director, Rich Weinstein; director of strategy, Andy Grayson; and head of production, Letitia Jacobs.
