Planet Propaganda, the independent agency that specialises in helping brands cross the chasm from growth to scale, has promoted 10-year company veteran Emily Steele to the newly created role of president. Emily has held the managing director role at Planet since 2020, leading and nurturing its team of directors across strategy, new business, account services, and operations. She steps into the president role with a focus on growth and innovation for the 30-person shop, which is home to national clients like Duluth Trading Company., Weed Man Lawn Care, Johnson Fitness and Wellness, and Snap-On Tools.
As president, Emily will manage all client relationships and business development practices, refine Planet’s strategy and content offerings, oversee internal agency processes, and continue to build an equitable and nourishing culture for employees. She will lead the agency alongside Planet founder and CEO, Dana Lytle, who launched the agency in 1989.

Emily joined Planet as an account supervisor in 2015 and was later promoted to account director, managing agency clients including: Duluth Trading Company, Jersey Mike's, J-B Weld, Pernod Ricard, Big Lots, EatStreet, Pancheros and Scotts. Prior to Planet, she held account executive roles Midwest independents Shine United, Waldbillig & Besteman, and Moosylvania Marketing.
“My goal as President is to push Planet’s positive vision and culture as we continue to evolve our client relationships, employee culture and our agency capabilities,” said Emily. “Our theme going into 2025 is to get comfortable being uncomfortable, and to grow by investing in the organisation and individuals.”
