Returning for its third year, the IDEAS awards are back and bigger than ever. The interactive, digital, experiential, advertising showcase aims to to celebrate the very best experimental and cutting-edge work being made by APA members in the world of commercial production and beyond.
The showcase will award the winners of all 8 categories at Picturehouse Central on the 7th March as part of this years Future of Advertising event. The work will then later go on to be seen at events around the world - promoting the skills and expertise of the APA members who work in these areas.
This year the APA have introduced two new awards categories, including ‘The Big IDEA’ where all entries will be up for consideration and judges will be able to choose a winner looking at the work more broadly and judge based on the purity and creativity of the idea overall.
The 2018 award categories are:
• Best Augmented Reality Experience via Mobile Device (Phone/Tablet)
• Best Branded Experience Using Augmented, Virtual or Mixed Reality via Headset/Wearable
• Best Use of 360° Video
• Best Music/Sound Design In An Interactive Experience
• Best Mobile App
• Best Experiential Campaign/Branded Installation
• Best Website
• The Big IDEA
Entry is £75 and only open to APA members, so don’t miss the chance to be a part of this showcase of the best in interactive work. The showcase is also a chance for you to have your work judged by some of the wider industry’s most knowledgable and experienced people – not just in advertising but within the field of interactive technology as a whole.

Franki Goodwin - Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi
Franki’s early career saw her pioneer early-integrated content and social media campaigns with boutique digital agency Franki&Jonny, with whom she won multiple awards including a BAFTA Interactive and a bunch of D&AD’s.
Simon Richings - Executive Creative Director at AnalogFolk
Simon heads up all aspects of AnalogFolk London’s creative output. He’s worked across all of the independent agency’s client list including Pepsi and PlayStation. Originally from a print design background, he serendipitously discovered his passion for digital after accidentally becoming a copywriter.
Alex Wills - Managing Director at R/GA Studios London
In his role as head of Film, Alex is responsible for ensuring creative excellence carries through with a particular focus on developing work at the cross-section of creativity and technology. He also has over 10 years of experience working with brands such as Nike and Google.
Julie Seal - Creative Strategist at Facebook and Instagram
Julie has held roles as Creative Director in agencies such as Sunshine, R/GA and Mother, before becoming Creative Strategist at Facebook & Instagram. She works in their Creative Shop, helping brands and agencies make their ads amazing on the platforms.
Emily Tan - Global Technology Editor at Campaign
Emily joined the London Campaign team in January 2017 from Campaign Asia, where she was Magazine Editor and, prior to that, Deputy Editor. Before signing on with Haymarket in 2011, she was a business writer with The Edge Malaysia.
Zillah Watson -Editorial Lead on Future Content at the BBC
Zillah Watson is Commissioning Editor for Virtual Reality at the BBC and heads up the BBC’s VR studio. She’s executive producer of a number of critically acclaimed VR experiences for the BBC including ‘We Wait’ and ‘The Turning Forest’.
Robin McNicholas - Co-founder and Creative Director at Marshmallow Laser Feast
MLF is a London-based experiential studio working at the intersection of technology, art and science. As Co-Founder and Creative Director at MLF, Robin has directed a myriad of VR experiences, large-scale installations and live performances.
Christos Savvides -Senior Digital Producer at 4Creative
Christos is a BAFTA and multi-award winning Senior Digital Producer for channel 4’s in house agency 4Creative, leading the digital creative and strategy. His work has been featured in over 25 publications from across the globe, with pieces also featuring in Campaign’s top 10 innovations two years running.
