LBB’s Casey Martin celebrates some brilliant work from SICKDOGWOLFMAN, Howatson + Company, Photoplay, Entropico Sydney and Special New Zealand

WorkSafe Victoria - ‘Umm…’ - SICKDOGWOLFMAN 



The spots created by SDWM are engaging and at their core, incredibly simple. Each interaction happens for only a few seconds but is enough to move the message across to audiences. SDWM’s use of a muppet like creature communicates how workplace injuries, harassment and bullying can happen to anyone. 

The message of “Umm..” provides a safe space for younger workers to stand up when something feels off around their workplace. Starting out in any workplace, no matter your age, can be scary. As a result, the strange out-of-place creature is instantly relatable as it provides a sense of unity through its anxious behaviour.  


Greenpeace - ‘Fight For Our Forests’ - Photoplay 



The world is constantly trying to better itself, or at least that is the hope. Australia takes great pride in their flora and fauna, therefore this campaign with Greenpeace and Photoplay is sure to tug on the heartstrings of homes everywhere. 

There is a childish nature to the stop-motion animation that creates a sense of urgency to fix the problem before it becomes the problem of our future generations. The craft and creativity is wonderfully combined. It is a feat to behold, and a message that shouldn’t be forgotten. 


iSelect - ‘Save More’ - Howatson + Company 



There is nothing more mundane than comparing household bills in order to save a little bit more money. It’s often seen as a chore, and yet Howatson+Company has breathed new life into the subject matter. 

The three TVC's house that dry sense of humour that all Aussies are known for. Throw in a cameo from Jason Donovan, and you’ve got something great. There's no hiding the message they are trying to portray and the 'save more' campaign is presented in a way that is entertaining and quite frankly, pretty funny!


NSW Department of Communities and Justice - Coercive Control - Entropico Sydney



Entropico has partnered with the NSW Government to produce a campaign to raise awareness surrounding coercive control. Four 30 second videos showcase coercive control in four different relationships and how the signs of abuse manifest. 

The campaign videos are back up by months of strategic planning and research and it shows. The TVC's are clear in their message and in their displays of coercive control. It's powerful and extremely well put together. 


Kiwibank - ‘This Is Kiwi’ - Special NZ 


Special and Kiwibank showcased the true story of a cat named Brutus and his unexpected holiday. It’s storytelling at its finest. The TVC itself is wonderfully comedic, and provides viewers with a story that I’m sure has been re-told over the dinner table. 

It showcases the services that Kiwibank offers to their customers in a way that isn’t showboaty or boring. The message is clear and it instils confidence in consumers that Kiwibank will in fact be with you every step of the way.
