Chipotle announced a new national TV ad featuring superfan and basketball star Anthony Edwards. The spot, directed by Mark Romanek of Superprime and narrated by Anthony, showcases how the guard has had to get 'real' about his training habits and diet to become the electrifying talent he is today. The ad concludes with Anthony declaring he feels “different” about the 2024-2025 season. This is the first time a professional basketball player has been featured in a national Chipotle TV ad.
It made its national TV debut on October 22nd during a matchup between Minnesota and Los Angeles.
In 2022, Anthony was called out by teammates for his eating habits. Despite being one of basketball’s most promising young stars, Anthony had been known to snack and visit fast food restaurants frequently. Fast forward two years, the guard has totally transformed his diet with an assist from Chipotle, helping fuel a memorable summer and heightened expectations for this season.
“Nutrition has become super important for me, and I’ve realised I need to prioritise eating healthier to get to the top of my game and have longevity in the league,” said Anthony Edwards. “No matter what city I’m in, I know I can rely on Chipotle to get a quick and delicious bowl that keeps me on track.”
Chipotle is bringing back The Anthony Edwards Bowl as a limited-time digital menu item on the Chipotle app and Chipotle.com, so fans can easily try Anthony's go-to order. The menu item features:
Chipotle's partnership with Anthony is part of the brand’s Real Food for Real Athletes platform that focuses on supporting athletes across all levels by providing proper nutrition through real food and fresh ingredients.
