In the sequel to last year's '#LikeASwede', Business Like a Swede, we meet a woman who runs her business the Swedish way. Employers and employees agreeing jointly on benefits and working conditions, turns out to be a winning concept and business is booming.
"We produced this video in order to, in a somewhat different way, show the advantages of the Swedish Part Model. There is a big need for increasing the knowledge on how the labour market works, especially among young people. Thus, Business Like a Swede will be at least as successful as the first video," says Eva Nordmark, President of the Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees (TCO).
Business Like a Swede focuses on the collaboration between the employers and employees in the labour market. When there is a climate of participation in the workplace, it leads to a sound working atmosphere and higher productivity. That is why collective agreements contribute to developing companies. It also creates security for the employees, in terms of insurances, pension schemes and other things that the employer otherwise would have to negotiate with each employee separately. The employer can also benefit from professional counselling and support from its business federation.
"Spreading knowledge about the Swedish Part Model is a prerequisite for understanding the trade unions’ function and how a labour market works. Doing this is one of the main tasks of TCO," says Eva Nordmark, President of TCO.
