Spot uses real 911 call footage and calming imagery to powerfully hit home its point, writes Addison Capper
This tense new Apple Watch commercial uses real-life 911 calls to demonstrate how the product could be the difference between life and death in an emergeny.
A lady named Amanda is trapped in a capsized car surrounded by rising water. Jim, a farmer, has fallen 21 feet from a ladder. Paddleboarder Jason has been blown into the open ocean by high winds.
Each of their stories, told using the actual footage from their 911 calls, is intertwined over the course of 60 seconds. The panic-stricken nature of their conversations is juxtaposed by oddly calming, simple imagery of the sea, the forest, a fog-covered empty highway, and a countryside farm.
A social ad of similar nature tells the story of Bob, a mountain biker who fell unconscious while out riding. His Apple Watch automatically alerted emergency services of his location.
