AMV BBDO has created a film for DfT which intends to get motorcyclists to sign up to further training by showing them that no-one – not even World Superbike Riders – are too good to be a better rider.
World superbike rider and former champion Chaz Davies, and highly acclaimed comedian Alan Davies, complete advanced training alongside a lucky selection of eight regular bikers. The aim is to show them and the audience that everyone has something new to learn from training: even celebrities, professional riders and seasoned bikers with years of riding experience.
Chaz Davies is current World Superbike rider and former World Superbike Champion for the prestigious Ducati team. However, despite racing bikes since 1995, he only took the test to get his road license this summer. Now he's going for further training. The series shows what happens when a superstar racer goes back to school.
We see the laughs, banter, and moments of revelation that Chaz shares with famous comedian Alan Davies and a group of regular bikers during a weekend of further training. Racing on the track and riding on the road are two completely different experiences, and the champion track star finds he has a lot to learn.
By featuring Chaz, a biker at the top of his game with years of riding experience, and demonstrating that he still has more to learn, we aim to breakdown a key barrier to signing up to further training amongst our primary audience: they have a lot of riding experience and consider themselves a skilled rider so they don’t think they would benefit from further training.
The content will be broken up in a series of short episodes and told online via the THINK BIKER Facebook page and through a digital partnership with MCN.
