ampm is throwing a big fiesta for National Horchata Day on Friday, Sept. 24th. On this day, anyone can receive a free horchata at one of ampm’s more than 1,000 stores (in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington) when using the ampm app on their phone. Conversation on social media about ampm’s horchata prompted the brand to start celebrating National Horchata Day in a big way two years ago in recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month.
To build excitement for the brand’s biggest annual day of celebration, ampm is launching several partnerships and collaborations:
ampm will have custom creative throughout the Dodgers and Mariners stadiums in September to build excitement for National Horchata Day. At the Sept. 15th Dodger game, the first pitch was thrown by Humberto Marroquin, Vice President of ampm Operations. The pitch came with a charitable twist. Because Humberto threw faster than 60 mph, ampm donated $10,000 to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation.
To spread more horchata love and interest, influencers and the San Francisco Shock will receive a social-sharing-worthy custom merch piñata box with a kit to embellish their horchata. And San Francisco Shock received custom fiesta de horchata-themed jerseys and a themed cooler full of horchata.
ampm will use paid social on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter to drive awareness. And ampm stores will also feature festive National Horchata Day POP.
