The Rehearsal centres around first year acting student Stanley, played by James Rolleston (Boy, The Dark Horse, The Dead Lands), who mines his girlfriend’s family scandal as material for the end-of-the-year show at drama school. His girlfriend Isolde is played by Ella Edward (“Munted,” Just Think of Us Both.) Kerry Fox (Downriver) plays the troupe’s no-nonsense acting teacher. Maclean’s acclaimed previous films include Crush (1992) and Jesus’ Son (1999), along with her award-winning short Kitchen Sink (1989.)

NYFF’s Main Slate competition features 25 of the most exciting new feature films from around the world.
