Alfredo Films has announced that Savannah O’Leary has joined its roster of directors. Born in Toronto and now based in Brooklyn, Savannah has a knack for finding the extraordinary in the everyday. Her strength as a filmmaker lies in her ability to create genuine connections between subjects and audiences. She doesn’t impose a narrative—she uncovers it. Her films explore family, resilience, and the small, fleeting moments that define who we are.
After transitioning from editing, Savannah’s directorial career began with the release of two acclaimed documentary shorts, "Gone Viral" (The New Yorker) and "The Making of Panthera" (DAZED Magazine), both celebrated for their poignant mix of humour and heart.
Whether she’s working with trained actors or everyday people, Savannah brings out the kind of honesty that resonates deeply with audiences. Her work has earned recognition from 1.4 Awards, Short of the Week, Vimeo Staff Picks, and the Webby Awards.
Holly Rowden, executive producer at Alfredo Films, shared, "We were super impressed by Savannah’s ability to articulate her vision, both verbally and visually. She’s got this way of encouraging real life to unfold in front of the camera, all while capturing these moments in the most cinematic light. We’re super excited for her to join the Alfredo family."
On joining Alfredo Films, Savannah said, "What Holly and Alex have built at Alfredo—both in their roster and in their body of work—is truly impressive. They have a clear vision, a strong sense of identity, and a commitment to supporting craft—something I felt at every step of our collaboration. Their energy is infectious, their attitude all-in. Simply put, they get it—and I’m thrilled to be joining forces."
