Alexei Sayle to Host Third Annual CDA Awards

The third annual CDA Awards, celebrating the art of casting and honouring the work of the casting director, will take place on May 15th 2019 at BAFTA, London. Today the CDA announced that its host for the evening will be comic, actor and writer Alexei Sayle.

Alexei was the first MC of the Comedy Store and later a key member of the Comic Strip, becoming one of the most original and influential performers to emerge from the 1980s alternative comedy scene. He started off as a memorably aggressive stand-up comedian in live venues and late-night TV before breaking into mainstream comedy and achieving a considerable reputation as both a writer and character actor along the way.

The CDA Awards 2019 showcases the work of the casting director and is open to all CDA members.

The nominations are already out and the winners will be announced at the awards dinner in May.
