Founding
member, Alex Bogusky, is stepping back from his role as an investor and
selection committee member with startup accelerator Boomtown.
Bogusky launched Boomtown with Toby Krout, Jose Vieitez and Stephen Groth in 2014 in Boulder, Colorado as a seed-stage tech accelerator. The company identifies promising startups from around the world. Selected startups are nurtured through a 12-week mentoring program, $20,000 in seed money, $40,000 in services and support and an additional $700,000 in perks.
“Boomtown is entering an exciting new phase and I’ll
always be proud to have played a small part in getting it started,” Bogusky
said.
Bogusky is leaving Boomtown at a transition
point for the company—as it prepares to close its second fund. Instead, the creative
leader will focus on other ventures, including Brandzooka, a
self-service video marketing tool for businesses that can't afford a multimillion-dollar ad buy, and his Angel portfolio includes the advertising
agencies Made and Humanaut, and the launch of a new venture in
January.
