NYC-based creative company Mythology, in collaboration with creative studio Tall Poppy, recently partnered with carbon conversion technology company AIRCO to bring the future of energy to life—by way of a Martian gas station.
Set in Manhattan’s historic Gasoline Alley, the immersive concept store, dubbed FUEL STORE, reimagines the role of fuel through the lens of design, science, and storytelling. The space is styled as a futuristic service station on Mars and showcases AIRCO’s breakthrough AIRMADE Technology, which converts CO₂ into synthetic fuels for aviation, maritime, automotive, and aerospace use.
“We wanted to create an experience that showcases AIRCO’s revolutionary synthetic fuel technology in a way that resonates with both industry leaders and the public,” said Ted Galperin, partner at Mythology. “By placing this forward-looking technology in a location historically known for traditional fuel distribution, we're telling a powerful story about energy’s evolution.”
FUEL STORE featured 11 limited-edition products conceived and produced by Tall Poppy in collaboration with food scientists, industrial engineers, and fashion designers. Items were organised into four themes—Air, Land, Sea, and Space—each offering a unique lens into AIRCO’s mission.
“Tall Poppy set out to transform complex scientific information into highly-desirable products that would light up people's minds and feeds,” said Alex Little, co-founder of Tall Poppy.
“Our goal is to spark meaningful conversations about the future of fuel,” added Andrew McKechnie, AIRCO’s head of marketing. “Each piece in the store represents a different part of our story.”
