AEI Media, the music & media company, is announcing the globalisation of its international events strategy with the appointment of senior music industry executive Jenni Cochrane as Head of International Events, and a newly expanded events team.
Following a stream of huge sell-out shows and festivals in the UK, such as Alexandra Palace, Global Gathering and SW4 to name but a few over the past 12 months, as well as a sold-out first UKF tour in North America, AEI Media is now appointing an experienced events head to grow the UKF live business and success in the rest of the world.
Previously the Director of Tours & Events at Ministry of Sound Group, Jenni Cochrane managed the Live Touring and Events division, successfully delivering a cohesive global live strategy for an extensive portfolio of brands including Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi, Dance Nation and Global Underground.
Taking up the newly created role as Head of International Events at AEI Media, Jenni has immediately bolstered the events team by recruiting Owain Harris, founder of one of the South Coast’s longest running monthly bass nights and one of the UK’s premier bass music event promoters, as Promotions Manager. She has also promoted Tom Dunn to Promotions and Operations Coordinator. Prior to joining the events team, Tom held a variety of roles during his four years with AEI Media.
The first project delivered by the new team is the UKF Billion Views Party taking place tonight, celebrating the massive milestone of UKF hitting 1 billion YouTube views at the end of June. The invite-only party sees an illustrious line-up with Fred V & Grafix, Gemini, KOAN Sound, Wilkinson, and Zomboy, taking place at a venue in Shoreditch.
Luke Hood, founder of UKF, comments: “UKF as a brand is growing at an incredibly fast pace as demonstrated by the recent 1 billion YouTube hits milestone, huge compilation sales, and sell-out shows and festivals both in the UK and the US. Appointing Jenni as a senior and experienced head of international events and growing the team is a natural next step in line with our global growth ambitions.”
“UKF is expanding rapidly internationally with an exciting schedule of approximately 15 new shows in the pipeline over the coming 3 months. The strategy is to take the already successful model we have created in the UK and deliver a series of events in key territories, including USA, Canada, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Slovakia, Belgium, Holland, Bulgaria, and Australia. UKF events will be held across a number of tiers, including club shows, artist led tours and larger arena shows and festivals. All larger shows will be branded ‘UKF Bass Culture’, the live brand for huge UKF shows”, he continues.
Jenni Cochrane, Head of International Events, AEI Media, adds: “I am extremely excited about joining AEI Media, I have known the senior team for many years and have always had the utmost of respect for the business and the way it continually reinvents itself, introducing pioneering new brands into the portfolio. Having the opportunity to become a key part of this team and help orchestrate the global expansion of UKF is a great challenge and I am looking forward to growing a healthy global events business, putting UKF at the forefront as a market leader in the live sector.”
